Small wires, big problems.
The overview

What it is, and why it matters.

Sprinkler valves are controlled by low-voltage wires buried across the yard. Shovels, aerators, roots and age break or corrode them, and a bad splice that was not waterproofed fails in a season. We test continuity, trace the break and splice in sealed connectors, or run a new wire where the old one is too far gone.

Failed solenoids are a cheap part but easy to misdiagnose. We measure resistance and voltage, replace the solenoid and label the wiring so the next repair is easier. In Nashville, we also suggest a spare wire pair on longer runs for future flexibility.

Why homeowners choose it

Four things done right.

Breaks located without digging up the yard

Tracing narrows the search.

Waterproof splices

Spare wires added

Future-proofing where practical.

Good questions

Wiring & Solenoid Repair: common questions

Can a broken sprinkler wire be repaired?

Yes. We find the break, splice it with waterproof connectors or run a new section. Cheap twist-on caps outdoors are a common cause of repeat failures.

How do you find a break in a buried wire?

With a wire tracer and a multimeter, we narrow the break to a short section before we dig.
