Misting systems atomize water into a very fine fog that evaporates quickly and cools the air, a good fit for Tennessee's hot, humid summers when used in shaded or breezy areas. A high-pressure pump forces water through tiny nozzles along a line mounted on a pergola, rafters or railing, and the mist evaporates before it wets surfaces.
We size the pump to the number of nozzles, add a filter and anti-drip valves, choose a quiet location for the pump and set a timer or remote. Results vary with humidity, since evaporative cooling works best on drier days, and we are upfront about that. A mist line can also cool play areas and pet runs.
