Stop spraying the shrubs. Start feeding the roots.
Converting existing spray zones in beds to drip, reusing the valves and adding filters and pressure regulators, to cut waste and improve plant health.
- Reuses: Existing valves and mainline
- Adds: Filter, regulator, drip tubing
- Time: Half a day to 1 day

What it is, and why it matters.
Many existing systems water shrub beds with the same spray heads as the lawn, which wastes water and can promote disease. Converting those zones to drip reuses your valves and often your main pipe: we cap the spray risers, add a filter and pressure regulator at the valve and lay drip tubing in the bed.
We keep lawn and bed zones separate, since converting a mixed zone does not work. In Nashville, where established beds around older homes often get overspray from lawn heads, conversion plus a few nozzle changes can fix both problems in a day.

Spray-to-Drip Conversion: common questions
Can I convert my existing sprinklers to drip?
Yes, for beds. We reuse the valve, add a filter and regulator and lay drip tubing. Lawn zones should stay on sprays or rotors.
Will drip save water?
Typically, because it wastes far less to evaporation and overspray. The amount depends on how the beds were watered before.
